Morning reflections

Angela and I sit here, about to prepare ourselves to travel home, we wanted to take a moment to post a short message of thanks and gratitude. It has been a very difficult time for our family and we are still in disbelief Maureen our mother is gone.

There has been many loving comments and messages of support on the sites. We have read them all,  they have touched us and we have found emotional support from them. At the moment we are trying to comprehend and process our loss before we attempt to respond. We have not yet had time to mourn our mothers passing.

Funeral Service Date and Time

A funeral service, internment, and reception for Maureen will take place on Sun, July 9th at 11 am at the National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, VA, 22042. Directions can be found here. Maureen will be laid to rest in the King David section.

We welcome all of Maureen’s friends who wish to attend, however, if you can post a reply below to let us know you are coming, that would be appreciated.

Several of Maureen’s friends have asked how they can help offset funeral and medical costs with a donation. This is not something we had anticipated, however, the kindness is appreciated. As such, an opportunity for those who wish to donate will be made at the service. We have also created a digital option here.

At the funeral, we will have a digital photo montage. If you have any digital photos of Maureen you would like to share, please send them to angeladawn8@gmail.com. We will look through the ones on hand, along with the ones sent to us, and try and determine which work best together for the montage.

With warm regards,

Maureen’s family

Funeral arrangements are being made

Well, it has been a little over 48 hours since Maureen’s passing, and we are still in shock but trying to move forward.

At the moment we are in the process of making funeral arrangments and will post specifics as soon as they are solidified.

Thank you for all the outpouring of support,  and for her friends that have given us shelter from the storm during this difficult time.  Maureen always said her friends were gold and she cherished them and now we see why.

We spoke with the ICU doctor about 45 mins ago and were informed that they are having real trouble keeping her blood pressure up. They have given her all the medication they can to keep the levels up but her blood pressure is not expected to hold.
